Had a pleasant Sunday where we popped up to Covent Garden in the taxi for a quick bit of last minute shopping and then round to my parents to pick up extra chairs for Christmas day (with luck, we should have 15 people round). Was still feeling pretty tired and spaced out, but it may just be a feeling I have to learn to live with for a few months. It’s certainly not that bad.
Popped out to the local at around 4.30 to be joined by our friends Sue and Tommy. A couple of small glasses of red wine (I have rediscovered the 125ml glass, which they have to serve you if you ask for it and can highly recommend it to any woman trying to pace her drinking!!) and some convivial chat and I was feeling much better!!
Nytol did the trick for a decent night’s sleep, and then it was Monday morning. First day since all this kicked off that Martin’s got up to go to work and I’ve had no one here. Naturally, sis was “on call” in case I didn’t feel I should be alone. But it was just a matter of waking up, coming to, and realising that this is how it’s going to be for a few months.
I am very fortunate that not only has work been extremely supportive, but that being a journalist means I can do much of my work from home. Which is what I am in the process of doing today. I will attempt to switch from cancer and chemo to the Mortgage Market Review! No, don’t worry, I know you’re not interested in that, so for now, I’ll sign off!
